"A View Of The Tour"

Imagine an artist, wearing a crumpled straw hat in the middle of a field, stooped at his easel, in the midday heat of Southern France. He is intensely painting his impression of dozens of colorful bicycle riders as they whir by in a flash of titanium and carbon fiber and then vanish like the Sirocco winds. They are gone in moments, leaving the artist to dab his colors in a frenzy, while the memory is still vivid.

My impression of what Vincent Van Gogh might have seen if he had witnessed
the 2007 Tour De France as it went through Arles.
