"Hypnotized"


August 1. Forty-one years ago today, back in 1962. The circus was in town, out where the dunes start. The Great Banzini was hypnotizing Ed Vogel, balancing him between two chairs. The magician took one of the chairs away and everyone gasped. Just then, Sheriff Wiggins busted onto the stage and said the show was closed. They arrested the Great Banzini on some morals charge and the circus was told to leave town.

They broke down camp and took off, leaving Ed balanced there on that one chair. Somebody said if anyone tried to wake old Ed up, it might kill him. We used to drive out and see if Ed was still there. He always was. Wonder whatever happened to Ed?
